Bir projenin teknik, mühendislik ve yapısal çözümlerinin, tanımlanan hedeflere ulaşacak biçimde ayrıntılı olarak geliştirilmesidir. Tasarım evresi, maliyet tahmininin, ekipman seçiminin ve performans beklentisinin somutlaştığı aşamadır. Proje finansmanında tasarımın olgunluk düzeyi doğrudan fonlanabilirliği etkiler; kreditörler tipik olarak belirli bir tasarım kesinliği (front-end engineering design) tamamlanmadan sabit fiyatlı EPC sözleşmesinin ve dolayısıyla güvenilir bir maliyet tabanının kurulamayacağını bilir, dolayısıyla eksik tasarım çoğu zaman finansmanı bekletir.
English Definition
The detailed development of a project's technical, engineering, and structural solutions so as to meet the defined objectives. The design phase is where cost estimation, equipment selection, and performance expectation take concrete form. In project financing the maturity of the design directly affects bankability; lenders typically know that a fixed-price EPC contract, and hence a reliable cost base, cannot be established until a certain design certainty (front-end engineering design) is complete, so incomplete design often holds financing back.
