English Definition
The development and management of a project's technical design, engineering solutions, and construction specifications, spanning the technical line from conceptual design to detailed engineering. This function defines how the project will physically be built and what performance it will produce. In project financing engineering maturity feeds directly into risk pricing; the lender's engineer appointed by the lender audits the soundness of the design and specifications, and the findings of this audit often turn into demands for additional reserves or a tightening of drawdown conditions.
