English Definition
The estimated future cash inflows and outflows a project will generate, typically modelled periodically over its tenor, and the backbone of valuation and debt sizing in project finance. Lenders derive the debt service coverage ratio from this flow and cap the drawable debt directly against that ratio. An experienced analyst looks less at the base case itself than at the sensitivity point where a small deviation in a revenue or cost assumption pushes the DSCR below its critical threshold, since a project's debt capacity is fixed not by the average but by the coverage ratio in its weakest single year.
