Bir işletmenin, menkul kıymet ihracının ya da yatırım girişiminin fikir aşamasından fiili varlığa taşınması sürecinin bütünüdür; fizibilitenin kurgulanması, kurucu sermayenin toplanması, gerekli izinlerin sağlanması ve tarafların bir araya getirilmesi bu sürecin bileşenleridir. Proje finansmanında promosyon, bir projenin geliştirici tarafından finanse edilebilir bir yapıya olgunlaştırıldığı erken evreyi tanımlar. Bu evrede harcanan geliştirme sermayesi (development capital) en yüksek riski taşır, zira henüz ne izinler kesinleşmiş ne de finansman bağlanmıştır, dolayısıyla getiri beklentisi de orantılı biçimde yüksek fiyatlanır.
English Definition
The entire process of carrying a business, securities issue or investment venture from conception to actual existence, encompassing the framing of feasibility, the assembly of founding capital, the securing of permits and the bringing together of the necessary parties. In project finance, promotion denotes the early stage in which a developer matures a project into a financeable structure; the development capital spent in this stage carries the highest risk, since neither permits are yet secured nor financing committed, and the required return is priced proportionately high to compensate for that exposure.
