Proje finansmanında bu form tipik olarak sponsor ya da holding düzeyinde görülür, projenin kendisi değil; zira proje çoğu zaman iflastan uzak tutulmuş, tek amaçlı ve halka kapalı bir proje şirketinde taşınır. Ayrımın pratik sonucu, kredi verenlerin PLC'nin denetlenmiş konsolide finansallarına erişebilmesi ama fiilî rücu için yine de proje şirketi düzeyinde ayrı teminat ve sponsor taahhütleri kurgulaması gerekliliğidir.
English Definition
A form of capital company, in English and continental systems, that may offer its shares to the public and be traded on an exchange, subject to minimum-capital and enhanced disclosure requirements (in the United Kingdom, "plc"); its Turkish counterpart is the publicly held joint-stock company. In project finance this form is typically found at sponsor or holding level rather than at the project itself, since the project is usually carried in a bankruptcy-remote, single-purpose and privately held project company. The practical consequence of the distinction is that lenders can reach the plc's audited consolidated accounts but must still, for actual recourse, structure separate security and sponsor undertakings at the project-company level.
