A regular report submitted to lenders and stakeholders that summarises a project's progress each quarter in terms of physical completion, expenditure, schedule variance and anticipated risks. Its real function is not to inform but to generate early warning; in well-structured credit agreements the declaration of schedule or budget variances beyond defined thresholds in this report is mandatory, and that declaration is tied to a contractual trigger that activates the lenders' rights to suspend further drawdowns or demand a remediation plan.
