Bir menkul kiymetin, malin ya da para biriminin belirli bir andaki alis ve/veya satis fiyatinin resmen ilan edilmesidir; piyasa katilimcilarina islem yapabilecekleri referans fiyati saglar. Bir kotasyonun baglayici mi yoksa yalnizca gosterge mi oldugu, uzerine kurulacak islemin guvenilirligini belirler; nitekim proje finansmaninda bir faiz orani ya da doviz kuru riskini hedge ederken alinan gosterge kotasyonlar, islem aninda baglayici fiyattan sapabildiginden, kapanis maliyetinin kesinlestirilmesi cogu zaman ancak baglayici kotasyonun kilitlendigi ana kadar mumkun olmaz.
English Definition
The formal announcement of a security's, commodity's or currency's bid and/or offer price at a given moment, supplying market participants with a reference price at which they may transact. Whether a quotation is firm or merely indicative determines the reliability of any transaction built upon it, since in project finance the indicative quotes taken when hedging an interest-rate or currency exposure can drift from the firm price at execution, so the closing cost is often not fixed until the moment a firm quotation is locked.
