English Definition
A company whose shares are formally quoted on an exchange and traded publicly, a status that carries obligations of regular financial reporting, public disclosure and corporate governance. Quoted status has a twofold effect in project finance, since a quoted sponsor is a more legible counterparty to lenders by virtue of its capital-markets access and transparency, while that same transparency requirement can compel early public announcement of project commitments exceeding exchange notification thresholds, thereby constraining the timing of negotiations.
