Kote olma, degerlemeyi de kolaylastirir; nitekim kote bir menkul kiymetin piyasa fiyati, teminat olarak verildiginde kredi verenin marj cagrisini tetikleyebilecegi gozlemlenebilir bir referans saglarken, kote olmayan bir varlik ayni islevi ancak donemsel ve tartismaya acik bir degerleme ile gorebildiginden, teminat olarak cogu zaman daha yuksek bir iskontoyla kabul edilir.
English Definition
A security quoted on an exchange and formally priced and traded, offering higher liquidity, transparent pricing and a broader investor base than its unquoted equivalents. Being quoted also eases valuation, since a quoted security's market price supplies an observable reference that can trigger a lender's margin call when pledged as collateral, whereas an unquoted asset can perform the same function only through a periodic and contestable valuation and is therefore frequently accepted as collateral at a higher haircut.
