Nominal faiz oranından beklenen enflasyonun düşülmesiyle bulunan, sermayenin satın alma gücü cinsinden gerçek getirisini ya da maliyetini gösteren orandır. Proje finansmanında modelin nominal mi reel mi kurulduğu kritik bir tercihtir; reel bazda kurulan bir modelde nakit akışları sabit fiyatlarla iskonto edilir ve enflasyon varsayımı hem gelirde hem iskonto oranında tutarlı uygulanmalıdır. Enflasyona endeksli borçlanma araçları kullanıldığında finansör reel faizi doğrudan sabitleyebilir; buna karşılık gelir tarafındaki endeksleme nominal kaldığında, iki taraf arasında modellemede gözden kaçan bir baz uyumsuzluğu birikir.
English Definition
The nominal interest rate net of expected inflation, expressing the true return on, or cost of, capital in purchasing-power terms. Whether a financing model is built in nominal or real terms is a consequential choice: a real-terms model discounts cash flows at constant prices and must apply the inflation assumption consistently to both revenue and the discount rate. Where inflation-linked instruments are used the financier can fix the real rate directly, but when the revenue side remains nominally indexed while the debt is real, a basis mismatch accumulates between the two legs — one that rarely surfaces in the summary output yet steadily biases the modelled coverage as the inflation path diverges from the assumption embedded at close.
