Kayıt tarihi ile işlem tarihi arasındaki mahsuplaşma gecikmesi, ex-date mekaniğini ve dolayısıyla kimin hak sahibi sayılacağını tayin eder; bu ayrım özellikle tahvil kupon ödemelerinde ikincil piyasa fiyatına doğrudan yansır. Proje finansmanında proje tahvillerinin kupon ve anapara dağıtım takvimi, kayıt tarihleri üzerinden ödeme temsilcisinin (paying agent) yükümlülüklerine bağlanır.
English Definition
The date determining who is entitled to a benefit conferred by a security — such as a dividend, interest payment, or voting right — on which the issuer freezes its register as of that day. The settlement lag between the record date and the trade date drives the ex-date mechanics, and therefore who counts as entitled, a distinction that feeds directly into the secondary-market price of bond coupon payments in particular. In project finance, the coupon and principal distribution calendar of project bonds is tied, through record dates, to the paying agent's obligations.
