English Definition
The category of documents comprising an organisation's operational records together with the periodic reporting derived from them, imposed as an obligation by most financing and licensing regimes. Because the record carries the raw data while the report carries an approved, interpreted summary, any inconsistency between the two is the most productive line of inquiry in an audit. In project finance, the regular reporting package required by loan agreements — construction progress, covenant certificates, insurance confirmations — is the principal interface through which a lender monitors the project remotely and catches early-warning signals.
