İtfa edilen senet, ihraççının bilançosundan düşer ve buna bağlı teminat ya da kısıtlayıcı hükümler (covenant) de ortadan kalkar; bu, sonraki finansmanlar için teminat kapasitesini serbest bırakır. Proje finansmanında bir tranşın itfası çoğu zaman teminat sıralamasının yeniden düzenlenmesini tetikler, zira serbest kalan teminat üzerinde ikinci sıradaki kredi verenler otomatik olarak öne geçebilir.
English Definition
A debt security that has been retired through full payment of principal and any redemption premium by the issuer, extinguishing the obligation. A redeemed debenture drops off the issuer's balance sheet, and the security and restrictive covenants attached to it fall away, releasing collateral capacity for subsequent financings. In project finance the redemption of one tranche frequently triggers a reordering of the security ranking, since second-ranking lenders may automatically step up over the freed collateral — a consequence that intercreditor arrangements must anticipate rather than discover afterwards.
