The legal address a company or entity notifies to the commercial registry for official correspondence, service of process, and inspection, which may differ from its actual place of business. In project finance this is not merely an administrative detail; notices clauses in contracts frequently designate the registered address as the place for formal delivery, and the validity of a default notice or acceleration depends on proper delivery to the correct address. In cross-border structures the jurisdiction of the registered address also forms a connecting factor in disputes over the entity's tax residence and insolvency forum, so it is far from a mere post-box question.
