Uluslararası ticarette, ithalatçının bankası aracılığıyla ihracatçıya yapılan ödemenin bir kabul ya da poliçe üzerinden finanse edildiği, akreditife dayalı kısa vadeli ticaret finansmanı biçimidir. Bu yapıda ödeme, malın sevkiyle poliçenin vadesi arasındaki dönemi köprüler; ihracatçı poliçeyi iskonto ettirerek nakdini erken alırken, ithalatçı vade sonuna kadar ödemeyi erteler. Proje finansmanında ekipman ithalatının bu tür bir yapıyla finanse edilmesi, inşa dönemi tedarik zincirinin nakit yükünü zamana yayarak proje şirketinin köprü finansman ihtiyacını azaltır; ancak kabul eden bankanın kredi kalitesi işlemin fiyatını doğrudan belirler.
English Definition
A form of letter-of-credit-based short-term trade finance in international commerce in which payment to the exporter, made through the importer's bank, is financed via an acceptance or bill of exchange. In this structure the payment bridges the period between shipment of the goods and maturity of the bill; the exporter discounts the bill to obtain cash early while the importer defers payment to maturity. In project finance financing equipment imports through such a structure spreads the cash burden of the construction-phase supply chain over time and reduces the project company's bridge-financing need, though the credit quality of the accepting bank directly sets the price of the transaction.
