Reasürörün, devrettiği işin edinme masraflarına karşılık sedan sigortacıya ödediği komisyondur; sedan şirketin poliçeyi üretmek için katlandığı acente, pazarlama ve idari giderlerin bir kısmını telafi eder. Bu komisyonun oranı, devredilen portföyün hasar performansına göre kayan bir yapıda (sliding scale) kararlaştırıldığında, sedan şirket için portföy kalitesini iyileştirmeye dönük güçlü bir teşvik yaratır. Proje ve altyapı sigortalarında bu komisyon, sigorta maliyetinin görünmeyen ama pazarlık edilebilir bir bileşenidir; brokerlar bunu toplam prim yükünü düşürmek için bir kaldıraç olarak kullanır.
English Definition
The commission a reinsurer pays to the ceding insurer in respect of the acquisition costs of the business ceded, compensating part of the agency, marketing, and administrative expenses the cedant incurred to write the policy. When the rate of this commission is agreed on a sliding scale keyed to the loss performance of the ceded portfolio, it creates a strong incentive for the cedant to improve portfolio quality. In project and infrastructure insurance this commission is an unseen but negotiable component of insurance cost, which brokers use as a lever to reduce the overall premium burden.
