English Definition
The act of actually curing and eliminating a breach of obligation or a defect within the period the contract allows, focused not on the right itself but on the process of putting the breach right. In project finance the concept ties directly into cure periods, the window afforded a borrower before a default matures into a right to accelerate. These periods are typically calibrated with different lengths for monetary and non-monetary breaches, and they set out separately the cure rights of the lenders and the equity cure available to sponsors.
