English Definition
The examination and resolution of a wrong raised by an affected party or community, that is, the redress of a grievance. In project finance the concept connects directly to the grievance redress mechanism that lenders require under their environmental and social standards. A failure to address objections from project-affected communities in a transparent and traceable way is not merely a reputational matter; it can place permits and licences at risk and thereby generate a genuine completion and operating risk that reaches all the way back to the security's value.
