English Definition
The ability of a user to reach a system, account, or network over the internet from a location where they are not physically present. In financial operations this capability underpins the remote monitoring and management of treasury and project accounts, yet in project finance the question of who holds access rights over reserve and revenue accounts is far from merely technical. Control over those accounts forms part of the lenders' security, so binding such access tightly to an authority matrix is the first line of defence against the misdirection of funds.
