English Definition
A document attached at the end of a coupon sheet on a bearer bond that entitles the holder to claim a fresh sheet of coupons once the original is exhausted, also known as a talon. The device is a mechanic of the era of physical securities and has largely lost its practical significance with the spread of central depositories and dematerialisation. It still surfaces, however, in the legal analysis of older issues and paper bonds, where the transfer of coupons and talon governs how entitlement itself is evidenced.
