Kredi analizinde kapasite, tarihsel kârdan çok gelecekteki serbest nakit akışının öngörülebilirliğine dayanır. Proje finansmanında geri ödeme kapasitesi, sözleşmeye bağlı gelir yapılarıyla (PPA, al-ya-da-öde kontratları) sabitlenir; kredi verenlerin asıl baktığı, tepe kârlılık değil, en kötü senaryoda dahi borç servisini koruyan asgari nakit tabanıdır, zira geri ödemeyi belirleyen ortalama değil taban akıştır.
English Definition
A borrower's ability to meet its debt obligations as they fall due out of the cash flow generated by its operations, measured from sustainable cash generation rather than the value of collateral. In credit analysis, capacity rests on the predictability of future free cash flow more than on historical profit. In project finance, repayment capacity is anchored by contracted revenue structures such as offtake or take-or-pay agreements; what lenders actually underwrite is not peak profitability but the minimum cash floor that preserves debt service even in a downside case, because it is the trough, not the average, that governs repayment.
