Proje finansmanında ikame kredisi, çoğu zaman inşa riskinin ortadan kalktığı işletme aşamasında devreye girer; risk azaldığı için sponsor, orijinal kredinin sıkı covenant paketini ve yüksek marjını daha gevşek bir yapıyla değiştirebilir, ancak mevcut kredi verenlerin rehin ve teminatın çözümüne (release) rıza göstermesi işlemin ön koşuludur.
English Definition
A new loan that fully repays and takes the place of an existing one, assuming its principal balance while altering the tenor, rate, or security structure; it reorganizes the profile of existing debt rather than providing fresh capital. In project finance, a replacement loan typically comes in during the operating phase, once construction risk has fallen away; because risk has diminished, the sponsor can swap the original loan's tight covenant package and higher margin for a looser structure, though the existing lenders' consent to release their liens and security is a precondition of the transaction.
