Bir yatırımcının, risksiz getirinin ötesinde, belirsizlik taşıyan bir yatırımı üstlenmek karşılığında talep ettiği ek getiridir; riskin fiyatının doğrudan ifadesidir. Proje finansmanında risk primi tek katman değildir; risksiz oranın üzerine ülke riski primi, sektör riski ve projeye özgü inşa ve talep riski primleri kademeli olarak eklenir. Gelişmekte olan piyasalarda ülke risk primi çoğu zaman toplam sermaye maliyetinin belirleyici bileşeni haline gelir, ve bir projenin ekonomik olup olmayacağını projenin kendi mühendisliğinden daha güçlü biçimde tayin eder.
English Definition
The additional return an investor demands, beyond the risk-free yield, for taking on an investment that carries uncertainty — the direct expression of the price of risk. In project finance the risk premium is not a single layer; above the risk-free rate are stacked a country-risk premium, a sector premium and project-specific premia for construction and demand risk. In emerging markets the country-risk premium often becomes the decisive component of the total cost of capital, determining whether a project is economic more powerfully than its own engineering does.
