Sermaye-yoğun projelerde bu disiplin, EPC yüklenicisinin modül, transformatör ya da çelik gibi ana kalemleri toplu sipariş vererek birim fiyatı aşağı çekmesinde somutlaşır; ancak toplu alım, teslimat takviminin bağlanması, ön ödemeyle bağlanan işletme sermayesi ve stok taşıma maliyeti arasında bir denge gerektirir. Fiyat avantajının gerçek net değeri, iskontodan finansman ve depolama giderleri düşüldükten sonra ölçülür.
English Definition
The practice of purchasing in large volumes to lower unit cost by capturing supplier discounts and economies of scale. In capital-intensive projects this discipline shows up when an EPC contractor bulk-orders principal items — modules, transformers, structural steel — to push down unit prices; yet bulk buying forces a trade-off among locked delivery schedules, working capital tied up in advance payments, and inventory carrying cost. The real net value of the price advantage is measured only after financing and storage costs are subtracted from the headline discount.
