Bir ödeme yükümlülüğünün vadesinde yerine getirilmesini güvence altına alan teminattır; teminat mektubu, akreditif ya da rezerv hesabı biçiminde kurgulanabilir. Proje finansmanında alıcı tarafın (off-taker) ödeme yükümlülüğü için sağladığı ödeme teminatı, projenin gelir güvenliğinin çekirdeğidir; bir PPA'da alıcının kredibilitesi zayıfsa kredi verenler çoğunlukla banka teyitli bir akreditif ya da ana şirket garantisi talep eder ve bu teminatın tutarı tipik olarak birkaç aylık gelir hacmine kalibre edilerek geçici ödeme aksamalarını köprülemek üzere boyutlandırılır.
English Definition
Security for payment is collateral that secures the discharge of a payment obligation when due, structured as a letter of guarantee, a letter of credit or a reserve account. In project finance the payment security an off-taker provides for its obligation is the core of the project's revenue certainty; where an offtaker's creditworthiness is weak in a PPA, lenders usually require a bank-confirmed letter of credit or a parent guarantee, sized to a few months of revenue to bridge temporary payment interruptions.
