Bir sözleşmenin nakit olarak kapatılması durumunda ödenecek net tutar; genellikle uzlaşma fiyatı ile sözleşme fiyatı arasındaki fark, sözleşme büyüklüğüyle çarpılarak bulunur. Erken sonlandırma (early termination) durumunda uzlaşma değeri, piyasa değeri artı birikmiş tutarlar üzerinden hesaplanır ve bu hesaplamanın hangi metodolojiye göre yapılacağı sözleşmede önceden sabitlenir. Proje finansmanı hedge'lerinin erken bozulmasında ortaya çıkan uzlaşma değeri — mark-to-market yükümlülüğü — refinansman veya varlık satışı senaryolarında çoğu zaman göz ardı edilen ama işlemi bloke edebilecek büyüklükte bir kırılma bedeli (break cost) doğurabilir.
English Definition
The net amount payable when a contract is closed in cash, usually the difference between the settlement price and the contract price multiplied by contract size. On early termination the settlement value is computed on market value plus accrued amounts, and the methodology for that computation is fixed in advance in the contract. The settlement value that arises on early unwind of project-finance hedges — the mark-to-market liability — can produce a break cost that is often overlooked in refinancing or asset-sale scenarios yet large enough to block the transaction.
