English Definition
A project structure organised on a turnkey basis in which design, procurement and construction are all placed under the unbroken responsibility of a single contractor, typically the EPC contractor. Single-point responsibility is a marked preference of lenders because it removes interface risk — the gap that lets one party push its delay onto another. In project finance this single wrap channels delay and performance liquidated damages to one addressee; but the balance-sheet strength and bonding capacity of the contractor in whom responsibility is concentrated then becomes the real support for the whole construction risk.
