Faaliyetine yeni başlamış, henüz olgun bir bilanço geçmişi ve kanıtlanmış gelir akışı oluşmamış finansal ya da kurumsal yapıdır. Kredi ve derecelendirme açısından böyle bir kuruluş, geçmiş performans verisinin yokluğunda projeksiyonlara ve sponsorun itibarına dayanarak değerlendirilir. Proje finansmanında amaca özel kurulan proje şirketi (SPV) doğası gereği bir start-up kuruluştur; kredi verenler bu boşluğu ana sponsorun garantileri, tamamlanma taahhütleri (completion support) ve sıkı covenant paketleriyle kapatır, zira kuruluşun kendi kredi geçmişi henüz teminat olarak kullanılabilecek bir zemin sunmaz.
English Definition
A financial or corporate entity that has only recently begun operating and has not yet built a mature balance-sheet history or proven revenue stream. For credit and rating purposes such an institution is assessed on projections and the sponsor's standing in the absence of past performance data. In project finance the special-purpose vehicle set up for a deal is by nature a start-up institution; lenders bridge that gap with parent-sponsor guarantees, completion support and tight covenant packages, since the entity's own credit history offers no ground that can yet serve as security.
