Bir faiz oranı tavanı (cap) ya da tabanı (floor) sözleşmesinde, ödemenin tetiklendiği referans oran düzeyidir; cap'te piyasa oranı bu seviyeyi aştığında, floor'da altına düştüğünde alıcı lehine ödeme doğar. Kullanım oranının seçimi doğrudan primi belirler, zira daha koruyucu bir strike daha yüksek maliyet demektir. Proje finansmanında değişken faizli borcun cap ile sınırlandırılması yaygındır; kredi verenler çoğu zaman belirli bir strike düzeyinde cap satın alınmasını, DSCR'nin faiz şokuna karşı korunması amacıyla kredi koşulu olarak dayatır.
English Definition
In an interest-rate cap or floor, the reference-rate level at which payment is triggered: on a cap, a payment accrues to the buyer when the market rate rises above this level; on a floor, when it falls below. The choice of strike drives the premium directly, since a more protective strike means a higher cost. In project finance, capping floating-rate debt is common, and lenders frequently impose the purchase of a cap at a defined strike as a loan condition to protect the DSCR against an interest-rate shock.
