English Definition
The amount paid by a subscriber to a service or asset-sharing program in exchange for participation. In subscription-based revenue models such as community solar, this fee forms the core of the project's cash flow, but the tendency of individual subscribers to leave, or churn, weakens the predictability of revenue relative to a PPA anchored on a corporate offtaker. In such structures lenders often require an occupancy guarantee or a reserve sized to absorb subscriber turnover and the risk of vacant capacity.
