Bir yatırımcının, ihraç edilen menkul kıymete ya da fon payına katılma taahhüdüdür. Sermaye piyasalarında iştirak, hisse ya da tahvilin birincil ihracında satın alma sözü verme eylemini; fon dünyasında ise taahhüt edilen tutarın sonradan çağrılmak üzere bağlanmasını ifade eder. Kapalı uçlu altyapı fonlarında iştirak ile fiili çekiş (drawdown) arasındaki zaman farkı önemlidir; yatırımcı taahhüdünü verir ama nakit, yönetici sermaye çağrısı yapana dek elinde kalır ve bu bekleyen taahhüt, fonun iç getiri oranı hesabında zamanlama etkisi yaratır.
English Definition
A commitment by an investor to participate in an issued security or fund interest. In capital markets, subscription is the act of agreeing to buy in the primary issuance of shares or bonds, while in the fund world it refers to a committed amount that is bound to be drawn later. In closed-end infrastructure funds the gap between subscription and actual drawdown matters, because the investor gives its commitment but the cash stays in its hands until the manager issues a capital call, and that pending commitment produces a timing effect in the fund's internal-rate-of-return calculation.
