Bir girdi ya da malın arzında ya da maliyetinde ani ve büyük bir değişimin, arz eğrisini kaydırarak fiyatları ve üretim koşullarını sarstığı durumdur. Proje finansmanında bir arz şoku — polisilikon fiyatındaki sıçrama, çelik maliyeti ya da transformatör kıtlığı — inşaat döneminde doğrudan yatırım maliyetine vurur. Sözleşmesel savunma, sabit fiyatlı ve kesin tarihli bir EPC sarması (wrap) kurmaktır; ancak yeterince büyük bir arz şoku, yükleniciyi mücbir sebep ya da mevzuat değişikliği maddelerini işletmeye iter ve 'sabit fiyatın' gerçekte ne kadar sabit olduğu tam da burada sınanır. English Definition
A situation in which a sudden, large change in the supply or cost of an input shifts the supply curve and unsettles prices and production conditions. In project finance a supply shock—a spike in polysilicon, in steel, or a transformer shortage—hits capex directly during construction. The contractual defence is a fixed-price, date-certain EPC wrap; yet a supply shock large enough pushes the contractor to invoke force majeure or change-in-law, and it is here that how fixed the fixed price really is gets tested. The EPC contractor's balance-sheet strength ultimately determines the actual worth of the fixed-price commitment.
