Fiyat düzeyindeki artış hızının kısa bir dönemde belirgin biçimde yükselmesini ifade eden ani ve keskin enflasyon dalgasıdır. Kalıcı enflasyondan farkı geçici olmasının beklenmesidir, ancak asıl tehdidi uzun vadeli proje sözleşmelerinde barınır: sabit fiyatlı bir EPC kontratında maliyet endeksi fiyat sıçramasını yansıtırken satış fiyatı sabit kalırsa, yüklenicinin marjı hızla erir. Bu nedenle deneyimli taraflar sözleşmeye eşik değerli fiyat eskalasyon hükümleri ve girdi maliyeti endekslemesi yerleştirerek riski paylaştırır.
English Definition
A sudden, sharp wave of inflation in which the rate of price increase rises markedly over a short period. Though expected to be temporary, unlike entrenched inflation, its real threat lies in long-dated project contracts: under a fixed-price EPC contract, if a cost index captures the price surge while the sale price holds constant, the contractor's margin erodes quickly. Experienced parties therefore embed threshold-based escalation clauses and input-cost indexation into the contract to share the exposure.
