English Definition
The legal process by which a pledge or security interest over an asset is extinguished, typically upon full repayment of the secured obligation or by mutual agreement. Termination releases the pledgor's property from the creditor's lien and restores unrestricted ownership rights. The process generally requires formal documentation and, where applicable, deregistration from the relevant collateral registry.
