English Definition
The volume of goods, materials, or transactions processed through a system, facility, or operation within a given time period. In infrastructure and energy project finance, throughput is a key revenue driver for pipelines, ports, refineries, and processing plants. Throughput projections are central to financial modelling and are often underpinned by throughput agreements that guarantee minimum volumes.
