Proje finansmanı açısından bu ayrım tali değil, yapısaldır; zira inşa ve rampa-up dönemleri boyunca nakit üretmeyen bir projenin, borcun keyfî biçimde geri çağrılamayacağı bir vade taahhüdüne ihtiyacı vardır. Vadenin sabitliği, borç servis takviminin projenin nakit akışı profiline göre kurgulanmasına ve rezerv hesaplarının buna göre boyutlanmasına olanak tanıyan temel koşuldur.
English Definition
A loan advanced for repayment on a fixed future date, over which the lender holds no right of recall before that date; it is the counterpart of a demand loan, which can be called at will. In project finance this distinction is structural rather than incidental: a project that generates no cash through construction and ramp-up needs a maturity commitment under which the debt cannot be recalled arbitrarily. The fixity of the term is the precondition that lets the debt-service schedule be built around the project's cash-flow profile and the reserve accounts sized accordingly.
