Proje finansmanında bu enstrümanın önemi doğrudan yatırımdan çok, uzun vadeli faiz eğrisinin çıpası olmasından doğar; zira on ya da otuz yıllık hazine getirisi, benzer vadeli proje borcunun sabit faiz swap fiyatlaması ve risk primi için temel oluşturur. Uzun ömürlü altyapı projelerinin borç yapısı çoğu zaman bu getiri eğrisi üzerine bindirilen bir kredi marjı olarak kurulduğundan, hazine tahvili getirisindeki hareket sponsor için doğrudan bir finansman maliyeti sinyalidir.
English Definition
A long-term US Treasury obligation, typically issued with maturities of twenty to thirty years and paying periodic coupons. Its relevance to project finance is less as a direct investment than as the anchor of the long end of the yield curve: the ten- or thirty-year Treasury yield underlies the fixed-rate swap pricing and risk premium of comparably tenored project debt. Because the debt structure of long-lived infrastructure is usually built as a credit spread laid over this curve, a move in the Treasury yield is a direct signal of financing cost to the sponsor.
