English Definition
A comprehensive strategic and operational transformation of a financially distressed or underperforming company aimed at restoring viability and sustainable profitability. Turnarounds typically involve diagnosis of root causes, emergency stabilization measures, development of a restructuring plan, implementation of operational improvements, and recapitalization. In the energy and industrial sectors, turnaround also refers to the scheduled shutdown of a facility for major maintenance, inspection, and equipment overhaul.
