Sermaye piyasalarında taahhüt, menkul kıymetlerin ihraççıdan satın alınıp yatırımcılara yeniden satılmasını ve böylece ihraççıya sabit bir sermaye tutarının garanti edilmesini içerir. Taahhüt eden taraf, yerleştirme riskini üstlenmesi karşılığında bir spread veya komisyon kazanır.
English Definition
To assume the financial risk of guaranteeing the sale of a securities issue, the payment of a loan, or the coverage of an insurance policy. In capital markets, underwriting involves purchasing securities from the issuer and reselling them to investors, thereby guaranteeing the issuer a fixed amount of capital. The underwriter earns a spread or commission for bearing the placement risk.
