English Definition
A customer order for goods or services that has been received and accepted but has not yet been fulfilled due to production delays, inventory shortages, or scheduling constraints. Unfilled orders represent committed future revenue and are an important leading indicator of demand. In project finance, a growing backlog of unfilled orders may signal positive revenue prospects or, conversely, operational capacity issues.
