English Definition
The total cost incurred to produce, acquire, or deliver one unit of a product or service, calculated by dividing total costs by the number of units produced. Unit cost analysis is fundamental to pricing decisions, profitability assessment, and benchmarking against competitors. In infrastructure projects, unit costs for materials and labour are closely monitored to control budgets and identify cost overruns early.
