A utility revenue bond is a municipal or public-sector debt instrument whose principal and interest payments are secured exclusively by the revenues generated from a specific utility system, such as an electric power, water supply, or sewerage operation. These bonds do not pledge the full faith and credit of the issuing municipality, relying instead on the financial performance of the designated utility enterprise.
