Depoda saklanan mal ya da emtianın teminat gösterilmesiyle sağlanan, ürünün üretimi ile nihai satışı arasındaki dönemi köprüleyen kısa vadeli finansman türüdür. Yapının özü, kredi verenin fiziki mal üzerinde etkin bir rehin hakkı tesis etmesine dayanır; bu nedenle depo çoğu zaman bağımsız bir collateral manager tarafından işletilir ve mal ancak ödeme ya da yerine ikame teminat karşılığında serbest bırakılır. Emtia fiyatındaki dalgalanma teminat değerini aşındırdığında ise ek teminat çağrısı (margin call) mekanizması devreye girer.
English Definition
A form of short-term finance provided against goods or commodities held in a warehouse, bridging the period between a product's production and its final sale. The essence of the structure rests on the lender establishing an effective pledge over the physical goods; the warehouse is therefore often operated by an independent collateral manager, and the goods are released only against payment or substitute security. When a fall in the commodity price erodes the collateral value, a margin-call mechanism is triggered.
