Konsolide finansal tabloların hazırlanmasında, yabancı para cinsinden bilanço kalemlerinin raporlama para birimine çevrilmesinde kullanılan, bilanço tarihindeki (yıl sonu) spot kur. Gelir tablosu kalemleri genellikle dönemsel ortalama kurla çevrilirken, varlık ve yükümlülüklerin kapanış kuruyla çevrilmesi çeviri farkı (translation adjustment) doğurur. Çok para birimli bir proje portföyünde bu seçim önemsiz değildir; yıl sonu kurunun keskin oynadığı bir dönemde, döviz cinsi borcun raporlanan kaldıraç oranı, hiçbir nakit hareketi olmaksızın covenant eşiğini zorlayabilir.
English Definition
The spot rate at the balance sheet date (year-end) used to translate foreign-currency balance sheet items into the reporting currency when consolidated financial statements are prepared. Because income statement items are typically translated at the period's average rate while assets and liabilities are translated at the closing rate, a translation adjustment arises. In a multi-currency project portfolio this choice is not trivial: in a period when the year-end rate has moved sharply, the reported leverage on foreign-currency debt can press against a covenant threshold with no cash actually having changed hands.
