English Definition
A cumulative measure of performance from the start of the fiscal year to the measurement date, allowing variance against the annual budget or forecast to be tracked without waiting for the full-year close. In project financings, year-to-date cash flow is watched to gauge the adequacy of the debt service reserve and to anticipate where the periodic DSCR will settle at year-end. For a seasonal asset such as solar generation, a YTD figure read against the annual target is misleading unless the point in the calendar is known, since a portfolio that has not yet seen its summer months will understate its true run-rate.
